For such a small city, Lagos has a wide range of accommodation. As a popular tourist destination, it offers modern hostels, central apartments, and hotels of every category, from budget to luxury.
The beachfront hotels are in Meia Praia, but there’s always a beach within walking distance, no matter where you stay in town. Dona Ana and Porto de Mós are the other beaches with more hotels in the vicinity. Boutique hotels can be found around the marina and in the Old Town.
Prices go up between July and mid-September, and everything tends to be fully booked at that time, so make sure you book early if you’re planning to visit in the summer.
Booking Hotels in Lagos
When booking a hotel, remember that rates always depend on the season, size of the room, view, and whether it includes breakfast (in Portugal it usually does, but always check that when booking). Portuguese authorities are strict, so even budget accommodation is clean and with good facilities.
